Health & Wellbeing Event

Cllr Gillian Wroe writes “On Friday the 9th August I attended a Health & Wellbeing event at Daisy Hill Cricket Club as Deputy Mayor of Westhoughton along with my Consort Cllr Alison Jackson. The event was organised by Julie Wright, of Social Prescribers from the Westhoughton Primary Care Network. 

 We were absolutely thrilled to see 140 visitors meeting and talking to the many organisations who supported the event. 

 The photos show us with Martin organiser of the amazing Community Garden at Daisy Hill Cricket Club, Lorna from Senior Solutions with the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, Lesley and Alison from Westhoughton Assist Service and Mark from ANDYSMANCLUB. 

Also represented were Dave from ‘In Your Corner Brew Club’, Bowel Cancer Bolton, Unsworth Practice, Darren Deady Foundation, ‘Self’ and others. 

It is a pleasure to celebrate and put the spotlight on these groups who give so much of their time to improve our communities. “
