Westhoughton’s History in Old Maps & Old Photographs Exhibition

“On Saturday (7th September) I was pleased to open the special exhibition by Westhoughton Local History Group which illustrates the development and growth of our town over the last couple of hundred years. A grateful thanks should be extended to the members of the history group who compiled this amazing display of local history. 

 It is interesting to see how the town has grown from a small industrial community to a largely residential town, but the same community remains. 

The exhibition runs from September 7th to November 1st, during scheduled library hours.  My particular thanks to Dave Kaye and Garth Ratcliffe from Westhoughton Local History Group for providing me with such an educational tour.
